Sophora Unternehmerkapital invests in Flow-Tronic

Flow-Tronic receives investment from Sophora Unternehmerkapital for further international growth / Existing shareholders of Flow-Tronic remain significant investors / Welkenraedt location to be strengthened and growth trajectory will continue


Sophora Unternehmerkapital (“Sophora”), an independent and owner-managed investment company based in Munich with a focus on medium-sized companies, announces its investment in Flow-Tronic, based in Welkenraedt (Belgium). Together with the existing group of shareholders, who will remain involved in the company in the future, the existing growth strategy is to be continued and the expansion of the international market presence further accelerated.

Flow-Tronic is an innovative manufacturer of flow meters for the water and wastewater industry based in Welkenraedt. For over three decades, Flow-Tronic has been a trusted name in the world of flow measurement, continuously developing new high-quality products and state-of-the-art solutions. The high-precision meters are suitable for both open channel and full pipe applications and enjoy a first-class international reputation for accuracy and reliability.

Flow-Tronic represents Sophora’s third platform investment from its inaugural fund “Sophora Capital Unternehmer-Fonds I”, which was launched last year. The fund has attracted significant commitments from a diverse and distinguished investor base, boasting over 75 limited partners, including accomplished managers, entrepreneurs, and family offices.

The Sophora team working on the transaction consisted of Benjamin Hubner, Guntram Kieferle, Niklas Ortlieb and Dr. Michael Matros, who will also act as advisor to the advisory board in the future.

Sophora was advised by EY Law (legal), PwC (structure, tax) and RSM Ebner Stolz (financial). The shareholders of Flow-Tronic were advised by Foguenne & Associés (legal).
